I think it's funny that there are other cultures out there that would probably have no problem if Americans wanted to start to embrace them. But when it comes down to it this country is built on immigration. The Irish/Scottish came in large waves to America. The German then came in large amounts. The French, the English, the Japanese, everyone came to America. The only culture that can really say DIDN'T imigrate would be the Native Americans.

When large groups of people move to new places they usually bring their culture with them, and then in turn pass it on to their children, and their children and so on. For someone or anyone to be upset because Someone embraces a culture from another country than which they live is silly. Same as it is for anyone one of us to get upset that someone is upset with us. Who cares what this one person thinks. I think we have all demonstrated by wearing kilts that the opinions of others mean little to us.

I never knew my grandfather who was born and raised in Ireland. He passed when he was 19 shortly after my mother was born. I feel that I honor him, and show him respect every day of my life that I live the way I do. No one person or country for that matter will take that away from me and him. Call me stubborn or a poser, it matters not to me. I'll keep doing exactly what I'm doing.

Slainte!
