I was told this is the Black Watch tartan:


But the Black Watch tartan is black, blue, and green. This tartan looks as if it has purple instead of blue, either that or the colours are way off. And the smaller stripes in this tartan are far too thick, they should only be 2 threads thick if it were the Black Watch tartan.

It looks very similar to all of the Black Watch tartans I have seen, but not the same. Is this a tartan which has been misnamed? Or is it actually Black Watch and I have learned to pick out irregularities in tartan?
