I really like my Scottish National tartan kilt. It's a handsome tartan and for a beat-on 5 yard from the ubiquitous "Designed in Scotland" firm, it works well. It's a great throwing kilt.

Well, during lunch at Livermore I was browsing the racks and came across a rack...kilts $95. Ohhhh KAY, I had to look. WHOAH, there was a handsewn burnetts & Struth Lindsay, weathered kilt. It was a beauty, so I had to pull that off the rack. It was used, of course, but in superb condition...

It was also about eight inches too small. *whew* I put it back. Then I pulled off a Scottish National Tartan. It was another of the Gold Brothers kilts, but this was had more like 30+ pleats than the 18 that mine has. It was tempting. It fit. It looked good.

ARRRRGH.

But you know what? I thought about my thread the other day, on this board about how I truly want tartans and kilts that MEAN something to me, now. I remembered that I have material for two kilts to make, waiting for me come September.

And I put it back on the rack.

Score one for self-control!
