Hey cousin, maybe its a clan/genetic thing. I'm also 6' even and my kilt length for hand sewn kilts is 22" too.
My inseam for p**nts is 30"
A lot of off the rack kilt sellers have lost business from me since I decline to purchase a 24" product then have to find a seamstress to take it up. Not an easy task in the boonies.
I've noticed a LOT of catalog folks are selling "one size fits most" goods these days. It just ain't true. I blame computers for accumulating the info that lets manufacturers sell to the thick part of the bell curve (try and find wide size shoes or ghillie brogues - heck, try and find a shoe width advertised). One size don't fit most so I stay with kiltmakers who will sew to what my weird to them, normal to me, size is.
So - you may not match what the off the rack vendors seek as their market but you match at least one clansman and there are plenty of machine sewn and hand sewn kiltmakers out there who would be happy to fit a kilt to your body.

Reason: One size don't fit me...
