It can run as high as $60 to $70 per meter, and you will need about two meters for even a 4 yard casual kilt. QAlthough I haven't purchased one yet, I'd recommend ordering a copy of Barb Tewksbury's book, "The Art of Kiltmaking". It will have everything you need to decide how much cloth you will require for your kilt as well as all instructions you will need to make it One thing you will learn is that the amount of cloth needed is based on your girth and the sett of the particular tartan you are using as well as how you pleat the cloth (to sett or to stripe).
