A few more pictures.

Friday in Monterey.

On Independence Day, Monterey State Historic Park held a "Living History Day in Old Monterey" with an opportunity to see what life was like in the 1840s.

There was a smithy at work.

Children got to make some rope.

The hurdy-gurdy man played us a tune.

Monterey is always filled with tourists, especially on a holiday weekend. For the first time, I was asked to have my picture taken. After several people had asked if I was a piper, one young lady finally explained that there had been a pipe band in the parade earlier and wondered if I was a member.
