Made myself a modified sporran strap
For the longest time I've had just a plain old sporran strap. This type of strap serves its purpose but it's a bit clumsy if one needs to simply unhook/switch sporrans because you have to unbuckle the strap at your back and pull it through the kilt belt loops and the sporran loops. Well, no more!
I saw many of the rabble who have a modified sporran strap that has trigger snaps that attach to the sporran, so unhooking/switching a sporran is much easier. Today I took that idea to the Tandy Leather store near me and bought some rivets, a hole punch, and an anvil. The salesman was nice enough to demonstrate how to apply the rivets and I headed home. After I arrived home I cut the leather strap, punched the holes and applied the rivets - took all of ten minutes.
Here is what I ended up with:

And here's how it looks on me:

The normal sporran strap cost me $15.00 and the tools from Tandy cost me $20.00. I look good, my sporran is now easier to unhook/switch, and most importantly, I'm a happy camper! Now that I have a bag of rivets, I plan to do this with all of my normal sporran straps. Hmm.. I might even fix that off-center pendant on the sporran
