Hey, I'm only in this for the money. Of course Jamie has never paid me my 35 cents salary so I guess in the long run I'm kinda stupid.

I thought I would explain to those who are new or those who have forgotten how this system works.

After this poll is over and everyone has expressed their desire, the option with the most votes will be selected for this years run of fabric.

I will then begin the process of taking actual orders. I will start a thread that will contain the ordering information. Each member who wishes to order fabric will send an e-mail to me containing the following;

Your X Marks screen name
Your Real name
Your shipping address which must include state, country and zip or postal code.
The address where you wish your fabric to be sent if different than your home address. (Fabric can be shipped directly to the kiltmaker of your choice.)
Your phone no.
The amount of fabric you wish to order.

The final charge for your fabric will depend on a couple of factors.
Shipping costs to your address.
Extra fees charged by the weaver. For example if we decide to use Marton Mills there may be a special order fee or one time set-up fee.
Changes in Currency conversions at the time of the order.

Here is the formula I will use to calculate your cost.

1) The weaver will tell me how much they are charging per yard of fabric. This may be in British Pounds so I will convert to Canadian Dollars.

2) When the fabric arrives at my shop I will know the total amount of shipping and duty charged on it. I divide this by the total yardage that arrived and add it to the per-yard cost.

3) I then multiply the by-the-yard charge by the amount of fabric you each order.

4) I then need to calculate the shipping cost according to the shipping address you give me.

5) I then add a 6% PayPal fee which is what they charge me for each transaction.

6) I take your total amount and add a 10% handling fee for my labor and time.

The total that I arrive at will be the cost to you.

I will then generate a PayPal invoice for each member who ordered fabric.
(yes, you will have the option of calling me directly with your credit card number or sending me a check via snail mail but this may delay the process for the others.)

When I have received all your payments and I am insured that I will not be out of pocket I will call the weaver and order the fabric.

This is the same way I did the Clan Crest Badges and the previous years runs of fabric.

As long as the system is totally transparent, gives everyone equal access to the same fabric, and the cost per yard is exactly the same for everyone I think this is the fairest way of handling this years run of fabric.

Next year we will do this again and if you all vote for a different weight or composition of fabric that is what we will then order. This is why some people have 13 oz. wool X Marks Kilts and some have 16oz. kilts.
