I know this is a long way round - but bear with me. I was wearing my Isle of Skye kilt, a white shirt & tie, masters cape & gown, and a Glengarry while getting ready to march to our college's graduation when a lovely young lass with a Scots accent told me that a real Scotsman would never wear a Glengarry to a college graduation. I refrained from telling her "bollocks" mostly because of her charming accent. I just smiled and turned away.
My point? Some people won't be happy no matter how your dressed so I say wear your Glengarry with pride and do nothing to shame it or the heritage it represents.
