Highland Practicing...how many events?
I didn't know how to phrase the title, so I did my best. My question though is for all of you athletes that practice at least once a week. Because I'd assume that if you practice less than that, you probably do all the events when you get the chance.
What I mean my that is this. Do you ever spend an entire practice focused only on one event, for example WFD. Or do you always practice more than one when you go out? I can see the benefits of both.
If you choose only one event to practice one night, then you are focusing your skills, attention, and form by not switching back and forth. But on the other side, the other events may start to get rusty if you only focus on one.
If you practice twice a week would it be a decent idea to say, this Monday i will only throw the hammer, but I will practice all the events on Thursday?
I'm just trying to get a feel for how other people's practices go. Since everyone in my group is brand new at this, we have to point of comparision. We've never been to another practice than the one we hold.
Thanks!
