I have one, I think, from a Stateside maker, J. Higgins. Just checked the stitching on the pleats and they appear to be hand done. The waistband most likely is machine sewn, but as stated above, the hang fit, feel and "swish" is unmatched. I ordered from him because I was most impressed by the set of band kilts he provided. His prices are somewhat lower than most of the Scottish made ones, which make me suspect that there may be more machine work on it. In any case, I am 100% satisfied with my purchase.
