Hello from Hartlepool
Good afternoon.
I am Francis Lawrence Reid and was born in Bellshill Maternity hospital in July 1957 along with my identical twin Bill. We lived at that time at Ellismure Street, Kirkshaws, Coatbridge with Mum (Frances), dad (John) elder elder brother (John), mum was like many a lady about this time who had to have her children in Bellshill.
I went to Kirkshaws Primary school where my Uncle Bill Crozier was the Janitor and my Aunt Lilly Waterson was a cleaner.
In August 1968 we moved as a family to the Northeast of England to follow dads work (from Stewart's and Lloyds) as did about 5 or so other families, to open (as part of a team of supervisors) the new British Steel South works in Hartlepool.
I have to get to work now (Deputy Chief Photographer at The Hartlepool Mail). However I will be back later this evening to let you have a few more details about me and my family, also if I may to ask for your help..
So to continue.
I have lived in Hartlepool every since except for a short spell in the army (2nd Batt RRF).
I am married to Kathryn, I have three daughters Louise (25), Leanne (20) and Laura (16).
My dad passed away (25years ago), Mum is still with us and lives close by as does my twin Bill, My elder brother John moved back to Scotland and works in the NHS in Lochgilphead.
So why have I joined the site?
Firsty it is to get help from its members (more in a posting I am about to make). about my daughters Wedding.
Second it is to gain the knowledge about "The Land Of My Birth" that I left behind, and was never educated about in Hartlepool.
Kind Regards.
Frank.
