Fun with 2.4 meters
Howdy all,
Here's my most recent work.
These came from 2.4 meters of regimental weight Modern Douglas tartan.
I cut the waistcoat slightly short so it won't lie too low under my Regulation Doublet, but conservative enough that I can wear it for more casual occasions. I just couldn't bring myself to add lapels or match the low frontal cut of a formal accessory. Matt Newsome looks so good in his matching bias-cut vest, that I had to copy him. He coaxed me into the bias cut front-horizontal rear configuration. This was a big hit at high tea this afternoon.
All the buttons are removable, and the pockets are functional. Now I need to find a good manual pocket watch with two or three coordinated chains.
Look for more photos of these from next weekend. We'll have three generations in Douglas colors for our family gathering.
Cheers,
Kevin.
PS- at age 40, I shined my first pair of shoes in decades- note the glossy caps!
