Well, I could not help it!
I did go by the store, and I asked very nicely about the kilts. I said that I really liked the display, but that the kilts were on "wrong", they said that they had their "creative people" who do that. I also said that a Scot would be offended by the way they are displayed.
That was just about all I said.......
Again, being creative in this way (by dressing them any old way) is like dressing a manikin in Lederhosen backwards, and makes the kilt not an alternative to pants, but a Costume, because there is no "Proper style".
The store again is quite nice, and there would really be no different reaction to the display if the kilts were properly worn.
I think that is the attitude that needs to be addressed.
Hopefully I helped. I was not critical or attacking the store or the window dresser, but I stated what I feel needs to be said. It is October, and if I can keep them from making the kilt look like a "costume", I will.
I walk by there daily, and will let you know of any changes!
