It Never Rains But What it Pours! No.95.
Yes folks, just to bore you yet again, the Postman brought another large package to my door earlier today:
This arrival has been expected for a few days as I knew it had been mailed in France over a week ago. [There's your first clue.] When I checked the Customs Declaration I saw that the sender is in the region of Les Alpes [Your second clue], but I knew that. [What? You want another clue? Alright, how about LC and DBP ?]
[Well, if you haven't got it by now, you obviously have not been paying attention in recent months!]
I can see I'm going to have to show you .............

Yes, my first (but not the last) double box-pleated kilt from the hands of Lady Chrystel. These images were taken within minutes of the kilt having been removed from the parcel and so there are a few minor creases where minor creases would not normally be - this in spite of the abundant packaging and protection provided by Lady C. A free hang for a day or so, and maybe a quick run-over with a warm iron, will soon put that right - I am in no way complaining!
This is a lightweight kilt - as Robert told me, possibly as light as 11ozs - and so it may not get a lot of wear until the Spring ...... but, at least, I HAVE it! The PV fabric is one of those offered from stock by Lady Chrystel and is a stop-gap purchase from her as I was so very keen to have one of her unique garments, but could not make up my mind as to which tweed, or registered woollen tartan, I wanted.
The tailoring is perfect; the fit is also perfect; I am truly delighted with it and I will now be getting my skates on to select the material for my second order from this talented lady.
Thank you Chrystel, and thank you Robert for inspiring me with the photos you have posted here of your kilts.
Take care,
Ham
