My mate came to visit for a cuppa.

Posted a thread recently about converting the unkilted here

Well, my mate that I was telling you about was passing by and popped in to show me his new Kilt that he bought on ebay last time he was here and the several etceteras he got later on. Thought you might like to see the result. I think he looks great.

I was wearing my MacLeod Ancient in PV when he arrived. He changed into his new:
    Hunting Stewart
    Black hose,
    Matching flashes,
    Celtic sword kilt pin,
Black leather jacobite style sporran on a black sporran belt.
Black, celtic embossed, 2" leather kilt belt with celtic swirl buckle plate.
He has teamed it all up with a dark green polo which I think looks the business.

I know my Crocks don't add much to the overall effect but we don't wear outside-shoes in our house...

It's a nice kilt, seems well made but it turns out it's a 5 yard 2 buckle and NOT an 8 yard 3 buckle kilt as advertised. It is pleated to alternate red and yellow stripe and is still a reasonable do for £29.99. Probably what it's worth in fairness. My mate loves it and it does look good on him. I've advised him that it's NOT what it said on the tin but he says he doesn't care, he's still buzzing from having taken the plunge which I suppose is fine. Might be worth noting the supplier also runs an internet empire and chain of shops around Edinburgh. We probably won't be buying anything from them again either and I shall spread this cautionary tale to anyone else who asks.

My Daughter is never one to miss a photo op.

Couldn't resist putting on my Bruce Strome hand sewn (did I mention I'd got one of those recently? ) just to compare the hang, not to rub it in that my kilt's better than his

    And again...

It's a well made kilt that has a nice hang and I like the pleating too. Bit concerned that it was sold the way it was but my mate is happy so all's good. In fairness, as I said, I've seen the same elseware for £30 so that's probably what it's worth. Not the Bargin I was expecting though so be advised.
