Newbie board
The "Off Topic" board does not add to your count when you post there because it does not contribute to kilts. I agree with this very much, and would like to suggest to take it to another level. I think posting in the Newbie board should not add to your count either. 1) because it does not contribute to kilts and 2) because I feel people copy-and-paste greetings to inflate their count.
Don't get me wrong, I think it is important to welcome our new members and encourage them to join in, but so often I see people who go into the threads and paste a generic greeting that seems like a thin veneer of sincerity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that doesn't seem like a real greeting. I've gone into Newbie threads where the newcomers ask questions and whatnot, only to be followed up by dozens of members stating their location and a welcome message.
I'm not singling anybody out at all, I just feel like we should keep post counts on kilt-related topics, not drive-by postings.
