I had 8 academic children in total and if they also had 8 each then over the 16 possible academic generations to now I could have a theoretical academic descendent count of 3,518,437,208,832!
Clearly that's not possible! But it does indicate I have an extremely high chance of being an academic ancestor for just about every recent student!
