My lovely sister has plowed her way through Barb's book and Barb's/Matt's supplement on box pleated kilts and wants to give it a shot.

Where can I find suitable material that is reasonably priced? Remember: this is her first effort, so who knows how it'll turn out? I don't want to mortgage the farm quite yet.

Come to think of it, should I go tweed or tartan on a box pleated kilt?
