Thanks for the information! Where did you find yours by the way? My s/o wears a kilt and I'd love to buy one for him.

GREAT. Here is my "take"
1. The BEST way is to order it with the KILT. WHY ??
A. This way It will be a "perfect match (color, material,Texture etc.)
B. Important if you are a "purest? but IMHO not ness.
C . The "Weathered Mackenzie was ordered that way when I bought the Kilt from STK (he calls them "piper's Plaids, but they are NOT) http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Sti...0Piper%20Plaid

2. If you know the "mill" or Maker contact them & see if you can order the material. Then Fringe it yourself. (CHEAPER)
a.Also check with our XMTS makers. they, esp. Rocky, should be able to "guide you in finding what you need.
b. The material may not be a "perfect match, But DARN CLOSE.

3. Order generic.
A. My BW Kilts are DoA & DoA 20oz material is HARD to find. I ordered a Dbl. wide 8' pc. of GOOD 16 oz.& IMHO it matches GREAT.(if a KP (read kilt police nit picker) wants to get cute, so be it.)
B. my other ones were ordered as in "2a & 2b)
C.. BTW, several friends of mine have ordered SWK plaids & even with their Wool Kilts the look GOOD. (& 1/2 the $$$$ ++ )
