I have been wearing terry cloth shower wraps for about 40 years. I knew how comfortable they are around the house and I wanted something as good for outdoor wear. However, this was before the internet and I had no other sources available. At the time, there was only one place in town that had kilts, but they were beyond my budget. About 5 years ago, I was attending a Scottish Festival and bought my first (McKenzie tartan). I wore it home driving my vintage 1952 MG. I now have 7 or 8 and wear them to work at the office a few times a week and out occasionally. I don't have enough to wear them every day, and with auto mechanics as a sideline, they are hardly suitable for the shop. I also ride a bicycle 20 - 30 miles a day and the kilt is not suitable for riding.

Advice? Wear whatever you find comfortable. Dress appropriately for the occasion. Anyone can wear a kilt, but wear it with pride and dignity.
