I agree with Barb. Just seeing the term used "loosely" got me to wondering.
Robert MacDonald says on his website http://www.westcoastkilts.com/ "For the past several years, I have been mentored by a Regimental Master Tailor of the British Army."
Which fits with what he told Steve on the phone.
So it looks like when a kiltmaker or middleman kilt seller mentions "Master Kiltmaker" it'd be best to ask just what they mean by that.
