NOT a wardrobe malfunction- or Sporran Vs. Sword!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7KSnQMBEZQ
These are the guys I spent the weekend with, and this is what I spent the weekend doing. The guy who get nailed in the nether regions is my friend Bryan, and the guy doing the nailing is Danny. I learned this weekend that my Rob Roy is a great defense against the very shot that floored Bryan. I was fighting Bryan, though, so this was a wonderful role reversal for him. So- for him, it was nice that he didn't hit in the crotch... For me, it was nice that I had a heavy leather sporran to cover my crotch!! Too bad I didn't have one on the other parts of me that he nailed... like my theigh, or right butt cheek, or my wrist(s)- note plural!!- or my shoulder... or the numerous other places that I hurt tonight!

One of the traveling musicians saw my wife and I walking around, me in my early 1700's Highland garb, and she in her "Kilt Inspector- Spread 'Em, lads!" shirt. The lady stopped us and said that she felt the need to serenade us, and sang us that drunken Scotsman song about the blue ribbon. I stood there with hands on hips, looking as manly as I could with my wife's hand on me bum, to the amusement of all present.

I sat in my group's camp carving my new dirk, getting all kinds of interested attention. Ah, what a great weekend. Now off to Spaceballs!!

***EDIT*** having reread this post, I realize that I didn't explain the event. The city of Fort Lupton, Colorado is rebuilding the 1830's era fort that the town is named after. They have been holding a Heritage Days festival as a fund raiser for the project. This was the third one, and the first one for the Renaissance Scots Living History Society- which is my group.
