Happy Mothers' Day!
Happy Mothers' Day to all the lassies out there who have brought new life into our world -- even if, 15 years later, they sat over coffee or a dram of aqua vitae and wondered why.
And to those of us who are blessed enough to still have our mothers with us, call. Send a card. Visit. Go to the store and pick up some daisies. Do something.
I firmly believe that the angels have come to collect my 85-year-old mother twice in the past two years, only to have Mom tell them to take a hike. Next time they come, however, I'm not so sure she won't have her carry-on bag packed and her boarding pass ready.
What I'm saying is, you never know when the last Mother's Day you spend with your mom will be the last Mother's Day you spend with your mom.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
