I've done something like this here in my area. My unit organization day is next week and the Commander asked me to run the Commander's Cup activities to include a mini Highland Games.
I've made my own implements out of pipes and weights and plan on throwing light weights. I'm afraid to try the caber, so maybe next time. Unfortunately I've already hurt myself practicing the WFD with the 42lb weight. The MRI is next week.
One question I have is where did you get the steel bars that are worn on your shoes to stabilize the feet during the hammer throw?
If there are any throwers in central Virginia who want to help me run the mini games, let me know and I'll get you some tickets for Thursday next week.
