I haven't seen a photo thread for the Greenville Games yet, so I may as well start one.

First off, I have to say that temperature wise, this year was far better than last. It was still a very warm day, but not oppressively hot as it has been in previous years.

The crowd seemed pretty good, as well. We went through brief spells during the day where we only had a couple of people at the tent, and then other times when we were overwhelmed!

When the XMarkers gathered for the group photo at 10:30 it was one of those times when we were quite busy, so unfortunately I only had time to pop into the photo and then pop back out and get to work. I didn't even have a chance to get a group shot with my camera, as I usually like to do. So someone else will have to post a shot of that.

Quite literally, the only chance I had to get out of our tent was when I had to visit the facilities! But I always had my camera in tow, and got a chance to take a few photos.

First, here is our set-up:

Chuck Coburn is one of our good volunteers who attends a lot of games with us. He just made his first kilt, a Lindsay tartan, and these Games were its debut. Not bad for a first time!

There was a whole family about in the Royal Stewart tartan. I had to snap this photo, as the young lad's kilt was way too long, but the lady (his mom?) seemed to be compensating for it. So, if you average the lengths, it's about right, I suppose! lol....

I did see a couple of kilts I made walking about... always nice to encounter one "in the wild."

I saw one gentleman in the MacAlister tartan wearing a neat pair of hose. These look very similar to the "Trellis" hose we have listed on our gift shop page, only with the pattern over the whole sock, not just on the cuff. I rather like them!

Miss South Carolina was supposedly in attendance, though I didn't see her. There were several young ladies who were Miss SC or Miss Teen SC hopefulls walking about. I talked to one high school lass who told me that the competitors were actually getting points towards the competition by participating in the events at the Highland Games! Here is one you lady trying her hand at the axe throw.
