Thank you, both. One more question, chain or leather to suspend the sporran, or do you hand from your belt?

I prefer the leather belt, my first sporran was my Dad's old sporran, it is now about 60 years old, it came with a leather belt, these days it is exceedingly difficult to find sporran belts, I think it all comes down to expense, I'm pretty sure sporran chains are cheaper than sporran belts. I reserve the chain for formal wear.

McMurdo, would you wear one of your Fergusson Britt sporrans for a formal event if you did not have the seal skin sporran?

I would wear the Skunk with the Black leather for a formal event if I did not already have the Sealskin, I would not wear the Muskrat with Brown leather as I find the Brown does not work as well for formal events.
