Class 501 at the DOD Police Academy
It has been a busy week for class 501 at the DOD Police Academy. We all checked in last Sunday and settled into our rooms, were issued our training equipment and briefed by the cadre. Monday morning we started classes and hit the books hard coving topics like US Constitutional law, the amendments DOD Police authority, etc.. Friday we had our physical training (PT) test at 0500. This was new to me and very different than the Army PT test, which consists of push-ups for two minutes, sit-ups for two minutes and the two mile run. We had to do the sit-ups for two minutes, sprint 300 meters, do push-ups for two minutes and then run a mile and a half. I did very well and even lapped several classmates. Once I was finished with my run I helped some of those that were struggling with their run. Twice last week I ran between six and eight miles on the back roads. Saturday two other classmates and I played a round of golf and had a great day. After golf my buddy and I explored the Miller caves.
Not too many pictures yet, but I will try and get some more as the academy moves along.
