Artificial Dandelions
Like some of you, I have been looking without success for silk or plastic dandelions for use as a plant badge everywhere. I have looked all over the interweb with no luck, except for a sort of pricy place in England, plus my wife has a lot of hobbys, so I look every time we'd go in any craft stores etc.. never any luck!
Yesterday Shelley sent me to "Joann's" fabric and craft shop to get some 16 gauge wire for a project she's on. The folks in the store sent me to their flower section and I found.........
16 gauge wire.....
and.........
The women in the shop were already freaked out enough by the kilt guy, then I saw the dandelions and let out a really loud YAHOOO! likely scared the hell out of them!
They had one of these bunches on hand, with about 26 flowers on the bunch, mostly in twos, one set of which with a little tinkering and some epoxy made a nice plant badge;
I know, a leather tam.... don't panic, it's one of my ren-fair bonnets!
On the negative side, Joann's are a chain store. They get these flowers in big lots, all the different types have a common "part number" so I'm was not able to confirm if I could special order just the dandelions...
For what it's worth, you might look and see if there is a Joann's near you;
