Just because you are getting the doublet on the cheap doesn't mean it isn't valuable-- check out the price of a new one at Kinloch Anderson. It isn't a day wear jacket, and if worn as such the wearer would look like a real Wally.

My advice would be to buy it, and then start looking for a nice civilian hair sporran.
