End of the fourth week at the Department of the Army Police Academy.
Another week has come and gone for class 504, and what a long week it was. Monday morning started with defensive tactics at 0530 and then it was onto classroom instruction.
Tuesday we did guard mount training and an afternoon practical exercise and Wednesday we spent all day in the classroom going over the M9 Berretta, Mossberg 500 Shotgun and M4 rifle.
A ten minute break put to good use.
Then Thursday we spent 14 hours at the range shooting the M9 and finished off with night fire and flashlight manipulation. Friday we reported back to the range and went through shooting from barricades and shooting on the move, after lunch we split into our two squads and went through the qualification course of fire. I shot 44 out of 50 and was very happy with my results.
Executive / Dignitary Protective Detail Training.
Washing our cruisers after spnding time on the Evasive Driving Course.
Saturday another classmate and I played 18 holes of golf.
The fifth week we have defensive tactics almost every morning and then we have one or two days at the range shooting the Mossberg 500 Shotgun and M4 rifle, and the four people that did not qualify with the M9 have to re-shoot to qualify. Friday we will get sprayed with Oleoresin Capsicum (OC).
