I'm sure you can remember at the piping championships Jimmy - the very very small number of people not in pipe bands who were kilted. I was disappointed about that - and even got asked why I was wearing a kilt if I'm not in a pipe band. I replied "I like wearing my kilt to Scottish-themed events like this" and got a surprised reaction.

I'm totally surprised at your comments about the negative reactions from you about glaswegians young and old, I would have to go back a good number of years before I got any negative reaction from anyone in the west of Scotland about wearing a kilt.
Come on Paul, you live now in a generation even in Scotland that accepts wearing a kilt particularly for young people like yourself at any time as quite cool and trendy. I only wish that I was your age again.
Sure there could have been more kilties in Glasgow Green but remember the number of kilties at the the Gathering,
What is it about Glasgow that when Scotland play an important match the city is full of kilties, everyone has tartan rapped about their waist but at an event like the Worlds, the kilt is left in the wardrobe/
I think Paul that the negative reaction would be reserved for older individuals such as me but I do not find this to be the case and always get a favourable reaction to wearing my kilt. In Partick where the 3 Judges pub is located I have worn the kilt on many a Friday night and always had favourable comments.
I think Paul that when people ask you why you are wearing your kilt at an event like the piping championship in Glasgow there is an underlying comment of approval there, as you know we are so reluctant to praise each other in Scotland.
So come on Paul, you look great in a kilt, so wear it without thinking about any negativity.

With regards to Arthur's party, its on the Thursday for one day only and we do not arrive until this Friday. I won't be kilted in Dublin as I only want to wear my kilt when it suits me but in the past I have worn it there
