Well, that is certainly different. And a bit surprising, as I know Scotweb uses the Scottish Tartans Authority's International Tartan Index as the basis for their tartan finder. And this does not match what the STA shows for Coburg (which is the same as what is in the National Register).

The original source of the tartan is Wilsons of Bannockburn's 1819 Key Pattern Book. I just referenced my copy of Peter MacDonald's work, The 1819 Key Pattern Book: One Hundred Original Tartans, which is a study of that resource, and his information for the "Cobourg" tartan (Wilsons' No. 150), corresponds with what the STA and National Register show; i.e. the Graham tartan with purple in place of blue.


Not sure where this new version may have come from, but I'm guessing maybe a recording error?
