Looking for Willie Nelson's Pipes
Maybe this would be the best forum to see if we can locate the pipes of a
Nelson William Alexander (Piper Willie) 59742 Pte
Here is the entry from our records on Piper Willie.
Iron moulder from Port Hope On, Imperial Forces A&S Highlanders Militia, Sections, concert KDS 18 Nov 1914,
arrives in Halifax DBW 22 May 1919, took charge of Nan (Battalion Mascot) KDS 23 Oct 1919, 21BC COM July 1933, story of pipes being passed on the Oshawa Caledonian Pipe Band under care of Piper Neil McRae., COM 1 Aug 1934, photo COM July 1937, pipes in General Hughes Reunion May 1936 COM Jun 1937, believed to have lived in Oshawa On post war COM Feb 1955, located at Port Perry On COM Feb 1956, Toronto paper prints offensive article on Nan COM Feb 1957,
The short forms COM, KDS, represent The Communique, the newsletter of the 21st Btn Club, KDS represents the Kingston Daily Standard and 21BC is the 21st Battalion club.
Anyway, if someone has an idea of where these pipes ended up, please get in touch. WE DO NOT WANT TO OBTAIN THEM, but simply know where they are for our records. If, perchance, someone wants to donate them to the Princess of Wales Own Regiment Museum in Kingston Ontario, we would be delighted.
