It seems every day I come on here I see another example of great knit work. Sweaters, Hose, Hose Toppers, Hats, you name it. It seems if you can think it one or more of the rabble have made it. Well I finnaly got the motivation to start my own project. I've started knitting some hose toppers. I've never knit before so this could be good or it could be an abomination to God.

After getting the baisics of casting on, and the knit stitch i made a trial run of 20 stitches for 4 rows to get an idea on gauge. I needed to know how many stitches and how many rows to make the toppers so they would fit fat legs. I ended up selecting 44stitches by 20 rows in a garter stitch patern. I'm knitting this with chunky acrylic yarn on US #10 needles.

Its a deep crimson yarn I hope to have the pair done in time for Christmas so I can wear them to my parents house with some green hose a red shirt and my Black Stewart kilt. Should look just festive enough I think. This is my first attempt at kitting or making my own kilt accessorie. I'll post Pics once I get a chance as well as the finnished product, Crossfingers
