A Utility Kilt on the European Market

The postman brought me this new kilt this morning.
Utilikilts have been around for a decade and there have been various knock offs produced, but this is a new line from Tartanista of London, England, also known on eBay as Fredonline321. Their website describes this as a Utility Kilt for the Active Man and describes the material as Heavy Duty Cotton Drill Fabric, although the label says it is 100% acrylic wool. I have not found any information as to country of manufacture. Whatever, it is quite a heavy weight though not stiff to wear.

The kilt without a belt, to illustrate the studs which fasten the overlapping front aprons.

Best foot forward. Ever tried to photograph a black kilt in snow, it is very difficult to illustrate the detail of the kilt.

Profile view, showing one of the side pockets and the straps. The kilt is available in a variety of sizes from 30 inch waist 21 inch length up to 46 inch waist 24 inch length. Mine is a 40 waist and 24 length. Would look better on a younger male, an off the shelf kilt tends to be up at the back on the more mature figure due to waist slope.

A pleats shot, showing the reverse Glengarry pleats.

Finally this shot, which is slightly over exposed but offers the clearest view of the fell and pleats.
All in all a good value for money knockabout kilt for £49.99 including carriage.
