I'd be curious to people's reactions to this Scottish group's parody of the Address. And btw, I am not condoning or condemning it, just offering food for thought.

Let me just say that in a way, I am glad that there is such a debate going on in this thread, because it proves that Burns is not some dead poet that people have forgotten, but someone whose writings still move, inspire and in some instances, inflame to this very day.

I would propose that this video Is obviously not meant to be taken seriously where as the previous ones mentioned were meant to be. I can see both sides of this that burns himself wouldn’t want to attend a dull boring evening on the other hand he also wouldn’t want to sit and feel like he's the but of the jokes (as I’m sure everyone else wouldn’t like it!) I feel that whoever chose the program of events has probably accidentally taken the premise of a good time too far and it has unfortunately turned out that to some people myself included it comes across reflecting badly on the people featured and their opinions of the event.

No disrespect intended to anyone this is just my opinion (after careful consideration) of what I think has happend
