Tartan Day in Fredericksburg VA

Being Tartan Day and a hot spring day I wore my Burnett & Struth’s casual kilt in Modern Malcolm tartan to work. I work for a gated community of ‘active adults.’ Of all the comments today, the one that stands out was from a female prospective buyer with her real estate agent. The agent asked what the occasion was for me to be kilted. Before, I could reply the lady prospective buyer blurted out, “He knew I was coming and I love a man in a kilt! Sold!



After work, I headed for the Fredericksburg British Pub to meet some kilted friends. Outside a bagpiper set the tone. (What no kilt!)



Ambjack and his Mrs. were there to meet me. Steve told me that he had learned from the staff a contract was just signed to open a new Pub in Potomac Mills. Gosh, I won’t be getting Sir William or SVC40bt to join me for a pint in Fredericksburg anymore! Jerry H of the Fredericksburg Scottish Society was there too to lift a few. We made new friends Dan in the loud McLeod, the piper, Ricardo and his Mrs. Jocelyn.



Amber, the bar manager told me she had developed today’s Tartan Day theme from my telling her last year about Tartan Day. That and $6.50 got me a Bellhaven Scottish Ale!

Later as I was leaving who I should meet coming in but Grey Wolf and his Mrs. Don’t they look grand! My bonnet is off to Grey Wolf decked out in his tweeds on such a hot day. All in all, it was a fantastic Tartan Day.
