I know it's a classic shoe, and would look great with puttees and a kilt cover, but what about casual wear? And if so, would you go hose up or scrunched down with this lower style boot.
This height seems a bit problematic for me. It seems too low a boot to scrunch hose down, but too high a 'shoe' to go hose up and have it look proper...
or am I just overthinking this?
That's the basic style I"ve been looking for recently, though these in particular have too few eyelets for my comfourt. I just recently bought a similar style of Clark's (see previous post, three eyelets and I added a fourth). On the two occasions that I've worn them with the kilt it's been hose scrunched down. Being of a simple and relatively classic styling, I personally think these shoes will also work well with the traditional hose up with flashes etc. The weather has just been hot enough to boil a monkey's bum on the separate occasions I decided to wear mine...so I was going for comfourt.
