The only thing that I would even critique would be the regimental tie. It's a lovely tie to be sure, but with this particular outfit I just don't care for it. I find it distracting from the overall look. To me, there are too many "patterns" happening... That is to say, between your tartans, tie, shirt, and wife's coat, I have a little bit of geometric overload... A solid coloured shirt and tie would have remedied that for me. But that is only one man's humble opinion.
Aside from that, a very lovely picture indeed! 
The whole purpose of a regimental/club/school tie is to identify the wearer as a member and/or alumnus. It's not supposed to match or blend in with a shirt. See Matt's earlier post.
Think of it like academic regalia. I have heard colleagues complain about their hood & gown colours, but again, the whole point is identification.
