To be honest I thought so too. This seller does appear to be legit and I can find no complaints that his products aren't what he says they are. There is a patch on the inner apron with numbers and info on it. It lists a maker and various serial numbers. I might upload that after work and see if anyone finds a problem with it. Other than that it has all the hallmarks of army gear. as I said, tonnes of built in expandability, remarkably high rise and matt black buckles.
I will also say that despite the weight (which I am not certain about) it is a very well made kilt.
Maybe people can help me here. The Christie tartan of my other kilt is 16oz lochcarron. Is lochcarron fabric notorious for its roughness?
The reason why I question the weight of this blackwatch kilt is because the weave is very tight and smoother like all the other 13oz kilts that I have worn over the years. I don't have a 13oz kilt near me to compare the two so I am going off of memory.
Thanks
