I feel very much in the minority as a female on this site, but I have been stalking it for months now, so fair is fair. My name is Jaimee Griffin and I live in central AZ (hottest part, crazy...). I am a utility contractor by profession and a seamstress by hobby and I am attempting my first kilt. The tartan arrived yesterday and I am so excited to do this. I chose the 16oz Jura line Stewart of Bute from Marton Mills Co. I have decided to do a box pleat to the stripe. For years I've begged my husband (who is of Scottish decent, his surname is even Scott) to wear it a few times if I made one. He has consented, so now I've got to perform. I wanted the Scott tartan, but Marton was out of stock on that one and I am running out of time if it will be done for the Christmas photos.

I hope you will engage a girl from the US who is in love with kilts and the beautiful weaves. I believe every gentleman should be wearing them. (Well, most gentlemen...) The members on this forum are dripping with their knowledge of kiltmaking and history. It is absolutely amazing. Cheers!
