Amy and I drove down Saturday afternoon to Austin, about 3.5 hours.

One of the bands we saw was Silver Thistle. Got to love a pipe and drum band that has bongo and conga drums. They do Samba based marches in addition to the regular ones -

Had a Scottie Rescue group there and since we are all about the puppies we had to check them out. You have never seen such a spoiled/content/happy puppy -

It was right next to a small lake/pond. After living in Dallas for the last seven years I've missed views like this -


I will have to say that the food was defiantly unusual. I will say that when I think of Celtic festival food normally the things that come to mind are soda bread and Scotch eggs. The most common food here was gyros. Having grown up on Greek food in Detroit area and ate myself sick in Crete. Really had the worst sugar headache after six pieces (large pieces) of baklava. I would say I'm pretty sure of Greek food. Not quite sure when boiled cabbage and carrot become part of gyros?



Brought this up on a previously but that thread is old. I saw this and had to get it and his Mackenzie!!!



All and all an ok festival if you live in the area.
