Last night I attended the 1st Annual Burns Supper at Mister Tramps Bar. It was a great time. Here are some pictures, and I apologize for their poor quality - I have yet to get the hang of my new camera.

The Capitol City Highlanders Pipe Band opened the evening.

It was a pretty good crowd.

The Bass Drum and the Sword lead the Piping In of the Haggis.

The Haggis is carried in by its maker - a young lassie who made it from a 'kit' that she ordered from Louisiana.

The 'Chieftan o' the puddin' clan' is addressed and sliced by our host for the night, Alfredo, the owner of Mister Tramps.

Alfredo was a great host and had gone to great lengths to make the evening authentic. And just so you know about Alfredo's authenticity, here is the bio found on his website:
Alfredo was born in Italy, but at the age of 6 moved to Scotland. Primary school was Ellingham Hall, a boarding school in Northumberland, England, where he was tortured and beaten for 5 years, and then attended boarding school at George Watson's College in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he was beaten for another 5 years. He graduated with a BS Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Edinburgh in 1980. After a short period in Adu Dhabi, UAE and Doha, Qatar, he moved to Austin in pursuit of Aimee. For 11 years he worked as a Product Manager for Gore & Associates, makers of Gore-Tex and has 8 US patents from that period. The next 13 years he spent building up a printing business in Austin, which he sold in 2006. In April 2009, he opened Mister Tramps. He still returns frequently to Italy to visit family and friends.
