I too LOVE my USAK PV kilts. I have 4 semi-trads and a casual. All have been worn many times and the only one with the slightest bit of wear is the casual--because I wear it like a pair of jeans (not literally) so it gets washed frequently. PV is indeed the next best thing to wool. As for riding lower, as Rocky said, it all in the measurements. Here's a pic of three of my USAK PV semi trads next to a USAK woolie (Ramsay blue 5 yarder).
Left to right: Ramsay, Firefighter's Memorial, American Heritage, Tara/Murphy.
My other PV kilts are an Ireland's National semi trad and a Douglas casual.
For a non-wool, "traditionally" styled, kilt, I highly recommend the USAK semi trad!
