I too LOVE my USAK PV kilts. I have 4 semi-trads and a casual. All have been worn many times and the only one with the slightest bit of wear is the casual--because I wear it like a pair of jeans (not literally) so it gets washed frequently. PV is indeed the next best thing to wool. As for riding lower, as Rocky said, it all in the measurements. For a non-wool, "traditionally" styled, kilt, I highly recommend the USAK semi trad!
