Being TN born and bred, I'll go with . . . George Dickel No. 12. The other TN whisk(e)y. I find it smoother than Jack, even at 90 proof, with a wonderful caramel flavor. It's only about 18 bucks a bottle in Knoxville, which makes it a solid choice for the college crowd, but I just kept on loving it long after I could afford to buy better.

I wholeheartedly agree with your comparison. GD is smoother than Jack. If others don't believe it, ask someone to blind test you. The difference is dram - atic. ;-)
