OK,OK!
its not a sporran, sgian,or targe. But I needed a way to carry my hand blown glass bottles to events without them breaking.
Liquor chests were common pieces of an officers luggage in both Europe and America . So I'm going to assume that a Scottish Laird would travel with a liquor chest and that they would have been common in Scotland.
I based my copy on several I had seen from the 18th century
I made the box out of Pine, and covered it with Leather and brass tacks.
I hand made the brass corners from sheet brass cut out handle plates from sheet iron and forged the handles from square stock
a look at the inside shows the hand blown bottles from Colonial Williamsburg
two stacked trays hold 4 pewter Jefferson cups
under the trays there is room for a pipe, tobacco, and cards to help you relax while enjoying your favorite scotch
The hinges and hasp I going to use came out of an old cabin in Montana
I just need to attach the hinges and hasp and it will be ready for use.
