Something always stops me from sewing this kilt. I had finally completed all my other obligations and the hour (quite literally The Hour) was upon me to begin and what should happen but this. One thing's for sure, my kitchen knife is sharp. Another millimetre and part of the finger pad would be gone. It looks to be held on by about two or three millimetres of epidermis which must be no more than one millimetre thick. The good news is that that purple colour along with the stinging, tingling and throbbing would seem to indicate that it is bonding well which I hope will mean a faster recovery than if it had been removed entirely or the separated flap were necrotising. The finger pads where our fingerprints are are apparently the only human body part which can regrow just like an amphibian limb. I witnessed it when my FIL sliced his away much like this with a straight razor. His hanging flap of skin turned white and died within a day or two. Te finger print took weeks to grow back. He also returned the razor to me and isn't up to trying it again.

I hope to be sewing again within the week, but we'll see how things go.
