This gave me an idea for my own design. Here is what I came up with given my limited Photochop skills. I don't know how well it would translate to a tattoo, though.
Due credit:
The outline of the lion comes from Wikipedia and the tartan is County Clare from House of Edgar. My family migrated to the States from Shannon Ireland in the mid 17th century.
