New Barb Tewksbury Kilt
I am now the proud owner of a handcrafted 8-yd knife pleated kilt, made by our own Barbara Tewksbury. It is truly a work of art. Barb's stitching is invisible, the pleats are arranged meticulously, and the fit is right on (which is pretty amazing considering that Barb and I have never met and I took the measurements!). A comparison to my other 8-yd kilt, made by one of the Lochcarron-contracted kiltmakers, shows that this kilt is far superior in finishing, fit, and design.
The kilt is made of heavyweight tartan, custom woven by D.C. Dalgliesh and pleated to the sett.
Barb was a pleasure to work with throughout this process and turns out a great product. When there were different decisions to be made, Barb presented the options and guidance but allowed me to make my own decisions. Her attention to detail is evident by the fact that she chose brown leather straps for this brown-based color scheme, something I would have never even thought of. If I were to ever purchase another kilt of this type I would commission Barb again. Thanks Barb!
